Skiing at Alpe d’Huez
One of France’s greatest ski resorts, right on your doorstep
250 km of slopes, one legendary resort
The Espace Alpe d'Huez is one of the largest ski domains in the French Alps: 250 km of slopes across six villages, from gentle beginners' runs to the legendary Sarenne — the longest black run in Europe at 16 km — descending from the Pic Blanc at 3,330m. Based in Allemond, La Douce Montagne offers the perfect retreat: peaceful mountain surroundings away from the resort bustle, with direct access to the slopes. Whether you're a first-timer or an expert chasing off-piste thrills, everything you need is right on your doorstep.
Eau d’Olle Express cable car
The departure station of L’Eau d’Olle Express is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. This modern cable car whisks you up to Oz 3300 Station in only 8 minutes (one of the six gateway villages of the Espace Alpe d’Huez) where the entire ski domain opens up before you. At the end of the day, the cable car brings you straight back down to the valley. No car, no shuttle, no stress. Just step off the slopes, ride down, and walk back to warmth, a hot drink, and a three-course dinner. Your ski equipment can be stored in the heated ski lockers at the valley station of the cable car, or in the storage room next to the hotel.
