La Douce Montagne

La Douce Montagne

Alpe Huzes

First Thursday of June

More than a sporting challenge, a movement

Every year on the first Thursday of June, 5,000 Dutch participants take on the Alpe d’Huzes with one goal: climbing the mountain up to six times in a single day to raise money for cancer research. Since 2006, over €245 million has been raised for the KWF Dutch Cancer Society, with 100% of donations going directly to cancer research. This is not a race. There is no podium. Only the motto: «Opgeven is geen optie.»

Registration and fundraising are managed entirely by the Alpe d’HuZes organisation. Each participant commits to raising a minimum of €2,500. Find all information at opgevenisgeenoptie.nl.

La Douce Montagne is located in Allemond, near the 21 hairpin bends is the ideal place to stay, whether you’re a participant or coming to cheer on your team.
